One of my pet peeves as a coach is a player who does not respect the game. You have to realize that no one person is above the game. There were many before you and will be many after you. If you attack the game with humility and passion you will get results. Work hard on and off the floor and I may see your name in lights one day.

If you want be successful in the game of basketball you have to develop mental toughness. The naysayers (Haters as they now call them) will always be there to shoot your dreams down but if you go the extra mile and believe in yourself you can achieve anything you put your mind to. The key is to turn the word Hate into Motivate. “Never let someone’s opinion of you become your reality”. Every time someone says you can’t do something use their hate to practice and play even harder. In this video I give a real life example of how I turned a Hater into a Motivator.

Whenever I watch a game on t.v. or in person, the great players stand out right away. Now, I am not talking about the guy that just dunked on someone or knocked down a long range three, those plays are for the highlight reel. I am referring to the players that actually know the game of basketball and make it look easy on a nightly basis. One of the secrets to becoming one of the greats is to create a system. A system is a proven method or way of doing doing something. This means your job is to find out the tips and tactics that worked before you and implement them into your game.
